You’ve been planning all the little details of your wedding for weeks, months, or maybe even years, so it’s a smart idea to make sure your photographer gets some pre-ceremony alone time with your wedding accoutrements while you’re getting ready for the big day. Still life shots of your shoes, jewelry, and other accessories (the groom’s too), plus the bouquets, dresses, and even your invitations, will capture all those special details to preserve forever. You may even find that some of your most cherished photos of you and your bridal party are taken during the getting ready time, both posed and candid.
To help ensure that those precious before-the-wedding moments get captured, add these tips to your Wedding To Do List.
Shot List: Include the Behind the Scenes shots you know you want on the shot list you provide to your photographer. Especially those that may not be obvious, like a hidden something blue sewn inside your dress.
Schedule: Add some time to your pre-ceremony schedule if you want to take some photos after hair and makeup, but before getting dressed. Make the most of your getting ready time by having all of your items to be photographed together and ready for the photographer.
Location: There might be some interesting spots around your venue (or wherever you are getting ready) that are perfect for detail shots. Do some scouting ahead of time, or give your photographer the go-ahead to take the items to any spots they find. Just make sure you’ve agreed on the return time so you stay on schedule.
With just a little planning, you’ll have those special details and pre-ceremony moments to treasure forever along with the rest of your wedding photos.
