Bridesmaids Blues or Bliss? A recent Facebook survey about bridal pain points revealed that bridesmaids are high on the list of pain points Say it ain’t so, I thought and how unfortunate that an incredible bonding opportunity is lost in unrealistic expectations, drama, or the stress of planning. Somehow the sacredness of the wedding ceremony has been diminished by the pretty aspects of planning. No, I am not trying to be a Debbie Downer – of course, your wedding day should be pretty, but only after you have honored the sacred. Your bridesmaids should reflect the people in your life that will journey through the ups and downs of your marriage. So choose those that will cry with you, pray with you, and celebrate with you as you and your honey grow to become one. Have the courage to forego the obligatory expectations that often accompany this role and avoid the bridesmaid blues that may be attached to that choice.
