Charlotte wedding planner Ivy Honeycutt of The Silk Veil Events by Ivy shared her client’s wedding story.
Here’s what Emily, the bride, said about how she and Walter met and their wedding.
We met in June 2012. We were both working as summer interns at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati. We fell in love over the summer and after our internship ended we continued to date long distance.
Walter was living/working in Indianapolis, IN and I was finishing my senior year at the University of South Carolina.
After graduation, I got a job offer in Charlotte and Walter accepted a job in Charlotte soon after.
After over five years of dating, Walter asked me to marry him on October 21, 2017.
We were in Lexington, Kentucky attending the Fall Race Meet at Keeneland. Walter proposed in the paddock of Keeneland overlooking the rolling hills and horse barns and surprised me by inviting my parents to be there for the special day.
We were married on August 25th, 2018 and still reside in Charlotte, NC.
Their wedding had a relaxed feel in a palette of pale blue and green with wildflowers.
