DIY: TABLE NUMBERS STAND…

As suggested by the government, most of us are currently practicing social distancing at home to prevent further infection of Covid-19. A lot of couples have had to make the tough and disappointing decision to postpone their wedding. However, looking at the glass half full, we now have plenty of extra time to prepare for the big day. We came up with two DIY table number stands you can create for any upcoming wedding!

For the first DIY table number, you will need to get a few wine corks (this should be easy for some ;p) and rope twine.

Place the corks tightly next to each other, we used six of them, in two lines. Use a rubber band or something similar to hold them together. If your table number is rather large and heavy, more corks in your columns should help stable this.

The next (and the last step) is to tie the twine around tightly to secure the corks together, you can remove the rubber band after this process. Using twine gives a pretty rustic look to your DIY stand. Alternatively, you can use any type of ribbon for a different look too! As long as it sits nicely in the middle so that your table number can stand in between. You can then add dried flowers, foliage, or anything. Be creative!

Once you’re happy with the self-decorated stands, just slip your table number between the corks and voila! The first table number of your very own is ready!

The second stand we are making has a much simpler concept but it can be tricky getting the glue to hold! All you need to prepare are some pegs, skewer sticks, and super glue (you may use a hot glue gun as an alternative).

The only step is to attach the peg onto the stick using your choice of glue. The tricky part we found while putting these together was during the drying process, the peg and stick will not want to sit nicely with each other so you will need to either place it sitting on it’s side or use a clamp to hold it together till it dries. Once it’s completely dried, you can leave them as it is for the rustic look or you can paint/spray them to the color of your choice.

Once you are happy with the stands, you can stand them in literally anything from garden pots to wine and beer bottles, just make sure to cut the skewer stick to the desired length. After that it’s time to decorate it however you want to. You could use dried flowers and leaves like we did, stick it in a fresh bouquet of flowers or simply stand it on it’s own!
