A future bride-to-be transformed her bachelorette party into a trip to help others.
24-year-old Rikki Kahley of Macon, Georgia had her dream bachelorette party all planned out. She and her friends were to travel to the Bahamas to celebrate her upcoming nuptials, but before they could disaster hit.
On September 1st, Hurricane Dorian pummeled the Bahamas, causing massive destruction and devastation throughout regions of the island country.
Instead of rescheduling her trip, Kahley decided to do something unconventional. After inspiration from her younger sister Chloe, Kahley agreed that she and her bridesmaids would transform her Bahamas Bachelorette party into a mission trip to help thousands.
With a checklist of needed supplies via their resort, the women reached out for donations on social media, and their request ended up going viral.
The result? Ten women at the Atlanta airport with 40 suitcases filled with supplies and relief aid. Upon their arrival, Delta airlines waved their baggage fees.
The simple act made a significant impact on, but Kahley said there is still a long way to go. Way to go ladies!
Rikki Kahley and her fiancé are set to tie the knot this October.
