As I sit in my office, freezing because I’m always cold, I thought it would be a great idea to dream of warm wonderful things for all those lovely winter brides out there. Whether you are saying ‘I Do’ outside near a snow-capped mountain or inside a beautiful cathedral, if there is cold weather outside you will want/need the following five accessories.

1. Cover-up
One thing I absolutely love about winter weddings are the brides who wear fur (faux, of course). More specifically in a cover-up or shawl. Not only does it add a fabulous fashion element, but it keeps your shoulders warm if you are wearing a strapless gown in 40 degree weather. That’s a win-win in my book.

2. Bridal Boots
Now I am not saying you need to ditch the high heels or flats for your walk down the aisle, especially if that is taking place indoors. But if you plan to trek through the snow for wedding photos, I strongly suggest wearing a pair of fur snow boots (aka brida boots). They will keep cold feet away and look fun in your photographs.

3. Winter Coat
This should be an obvious accessory for any bride who knows that cold weather means you’ll need a coat. But don’t grab your NorthFace that you’ve had for years, grab a bold color peacoat or a neutral cape. Something that again, will look amazing in photographs. Want to bump it up a bit? Combine accessory #1 with this one and get a full-length fur coat. Slay girl!

4. Gloves
My personal favorites: fingerless gloves. I’m not sure what it is about fingerless gloves that I love so much, but they sure are great. And they come in so many fun options. Fur, check. Patterned, check. Warm, check. Gloves are great! If you’re not into fingerless gloves that is perfectly okay, there are many other types out there. My only suggestion, steer-clear of the white satin long gloves that come past your elbows…. those are outdated and meant to remain with Royals. (Sorry to anyone who loves them).

5. Unmentionables
Now I’m not talking winter bras and panties here, I’m talking about the other undergarments – tights, leggings or knee highs. Instead of going with nude or beige or brown, consider something a little thicker and fun. Perhaps go with a cable knit fabric with a fun pattern in it or snow white in color. The options are endless, plus they, like all the other accessories, will keep you warm on your wedding day.
