A Head Over Heels Blog Series by Josey Stafford

You may have noticed my last few posts have really highlight Minnesota wedding venues that all belong to the same family, Three Rivers Park District. It’s on purpose, of course, because I really think that more brides and more grooms should take advantage of these properties, sprinkled around the Twin Cities, with perfect spaces for getting married outside and then celebrating the night away.

Choosing a Three Rivers Park wedding venue automatically means your wedding will start off reasonably priced, because rentals are really affordable. It means your wedding is going to be eco-friendly, because the properties are zero-waste facilities. Who doesn’t love to compost and save money?! And it also means you will be working with Kathryn Kloster, your Guest Services Sales Specialist.

Kathryn has got to be the most knowledgeable person in the state when it comes to weddings at Three Rivers Park properties. She is constantly jetting from Bloomington (Hyland Ski Chalet) to Shakopee (The Landing) and back to Minnetrista (Gale Woods), to give tours, assist with weddings, and to ensure that your best day ever goes off without a hitch.

It’s likely that if you tour at Gale Woods, you’ll tour with Kathryn, and I fully encourage you to go and to see the space. To sit in those white garden chairs that your guests will sit in while you say ‘I do’. To step out onto the dance floor that you and yours will have your first dance on. To check out the fire pit that you’ll be making your late night snack of s’mores in.

But until then, here’s what Kathryn has to say about getting married at Gale Woods Farm:

Gale Woods is a real working farm, that means there are real, live animals on the property! There are sheep, there’s Marty the llama, and there are cows, which is really fun for kids and for animal lovers. Let’s not forget about Spud and Rutabaga, the friendliest cats you could have on a farm.

Gale Woods also has an outdoor gaming area, with plenty of space for guests to roam about and to be comfortable having fun at your reception. Plus Whale Tail Lake is on the property and offers some stunning outdoor ceremony backdrops, and wedding photos. There is free onsite parking, we are wheelchair accessible, and there are hotels located just 10 miles away with shuttle service.

Whether you want to get married in a park or are a farm girl/boy at heart, Gale Woods Farm is definitely a property you should check out! Just take a look at the photos from a recent photo shoot we had on site.
