Selecting a wedding gown is a very, very personal often emotional experience for many brides.

Some become very attached to their gowns, we have heard stories about brides who wear them around the house for quite a while after the wedding.

My Daughter Will Wear It

Previously, brides believed that they should keep the gown around and that someday in the distant future their daughter would wear the dress on her wedding day.

The reality of that dream is that most people have a 50/50 chance that they will have a daughter, the odds are lower that their daughter will be the same size and still lower that she will be interested in wearing their wedding gown.

After all, it will be close to twenty-five years old.

You may have a daughter or future-daughter-in-law who might want to incorporate a portion of the gown into their wedding (or rehearsal dinner) attire.

Trash The Dress

The wedding industry also when through a massive phase of “Trash The  Dress” where brides who realized they would never wear their wedding gown again dove head first into the ocean or reclined on their favorite rock formation.

Not really trashing the dress but agreeing to create artistic photographs without regard for the gown getting dirty.

Baby, Baby

Probably the best uses of the wedding gown that we have seen would have to be creating Christening gowns, baby blankets or baby pillows from the fabric.

Save It

Whatever you might be considering, we highly recommend cleaning and preservation.

Saving the gown you love will allow you to make decisions on its use down the road.

Regardless of what you choose, you will have the gown you love for a long, long time.
