Here is the beautiful love story of Gabrielle and Glenn in Gabrielle’s mother’s own words:
The short version of the love story begins with 2 Rice University athletes who fall in love but the young man is soon drafted by the NY Yankees before graduating and leaves his love/starting point guard on the Rice Women’s basketball team to pack his bags over night and report to spring training in Tampa Bay, Florida.
Fast forward.. following treks to Staten Island for visits, and an unexpected surgery for the baseball star, he’s back home in Houston rehabbing and decides to pop the question before he has to return to the Yankees. They had been asked to be the “practice subjects” many times for their friend who’s also a Rice University athlete but more importantly a budding photographer. She is interning with a popular wedding photographer in Houston as well. When this friend needs to practice her art she will frequently ask them to pose for her. So the bf decides that this will be his modus operandi for the big surprise!!
With custom ring designed, produced and ready, the budding photographer (Kendall Sohl Photography) friend asks my daughter if she and her bf would mind helping her with some lighting shots as she’s preparing to shoot another wedding soon. Meanwhile the bf and the photographer/teammate/bff set out to build a gorgeous trellis, find the perfect candles, her favorite wine, orchestrated music softly echoing from the gorgeous oak trees dripping with Spanish moss for an incredible proposal site!!! He literally thought of EVERYTHING.
The day came and with ring in his pocket, the soon to be fiance set out for a “simple practice photo shoot” to help their friend and budding photographer. Little did my daughter know that the final location that they would go to had a beautiful backdrop (built by the BF) set up for him to get down on one knee and ask her to be his wife! I hope you enjoy the photos as much as all of their family and friends have. It was NOT a posed session after the fact! It’s raw emotion, gorgeous backdrop and incredible photography!!!
