However you celebrate,

we wish you Merry & Happy!

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,
No couples were stirring, not even a mouse.
The wedding plans sat by the chimney with care,
excited the wedding day soon would be there;
The peep were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of weddings danced in their heads,
The bride in her ‘kerchief, and the groom in his cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter’s nap-
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters, and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow,
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below;
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a wedding planner, and her team all so dear,
With that clever driver, so lively and quick,
I thought for a moment it might be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles her helpers they came,
And she whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
“Now! Photographer, now! DJ, now! Transpo, and Florist,
“On! Caterer, on! Cupid, on! Baker and Forest;
“To the top of the church! to the top of the hall!
“Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!”
So up to the house-top the helpers they flew,
With the sleigh full of gifts – and the wedding planner too:
And then in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of the wedding party, those goofs.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney the planner she came with a bound:
She was dressed all in black, from her head to her foot,
And her clothes were all tarnished with cake crumbs and soot;
A bundle of goodies was flung on her back,
And she looked like a peddler just opening her pack:
Her eyes – how they twinkled! her dimples how merry,
Her cheeks were like roses, her nose like a cherry;
Her droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the fur on her sneakers was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pencil she held tight in her teeth,
And her notes on the wedding plan scribbled round like a wreath.
She had a sweet face, and the absence of belly
No shaking when she laughed, no bowl full of jelly:
She was stylish and smart, a right jolly young elf,
And I laughed when I saw her in spite of myself;
A wink of her eye and a twist of her head
Soon gave me to know we had nothing to dread.
She spoke not a word, but went straight to her work,
And fixed up the wedding plan; then turned with a jerk,
And laying her finger aside of her nose
And giving a nod, up the chimney she rose.
She sprung to her sleigh, to her team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew, like the down of a thistle:
But I heard her exclaim, as she drove out of sight-
Happy Wedding to all, and to all a good night.
