“How Do I Create a Wedding Event Budget?”

Create a Wedding Event Budget - Alpha Prosperity Events

Creating a wedding event budget does not have to be stressful or painful. Start by having a realistic discussion of how much you can afford to allocate to your wedding event. Next – brainstorm a list of all the items that come to mind pertaining to the wedding. Don’t worry about discussing them now, just list everything that you can think of, that you have seen or heard about, etc. Now, divide that list into two categories, a category of must-haves and a category of nice-to-haves.

Now take the items in the must-have category and rank them by importance. Allocate your budget to the must-haves first, the things that you absolutely will not do without. Whatever budgeted monies are left, can be used for the nice to have items.

Take your time with this list. You may need to take several days of looking at it and discussing it with your fiance to really decide on what’s important. Many couples say that one thing is important in the beginning but when it comes to giving up something else to have that one thing, that one thing is not as important anymore.  Many wedding planners offer wedding budget consultations to help with just creating a wedding event budget so don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it. There are no right or wrong choices for what to include in your wedding event budget.  Rememberit’s your day. Make sure you have the wedding day and activities that make sense to both of you. Make choices for the things that represent you as a couple. and don’t worry about pleasing everyone else. When you take the time to create a wedding event budget, you will find that you aren’t wasting money on things that don’t really matter to you. Now that’s a great start to a “happily ever after.”
