We love receiving inspirational submissions from our vendors! This specific post was submitted by Brittani Rodriguez of Something Blue Events.
Fun fact: did you know that the idea behind something blue for weddings was originally from an Old English rhyme? We’re not sure if that’s where Brittani got her inspiration, but one thing is for sure, this woman knows weddings!
This beautiful bride is stunning as the bright colors in her bouquet create a stark contrast to the table decor. When working through your wedding design, it’s important to remember that your color scheme matters! Choosing colors that contrast with one another will give your special day a vibrant feel, while choosing colors that are within the same color family will give you a soft and mellow vibe.
Lighting is EVERYTHING! We love a good backlight for bridal photos. Some people are afraid of backlighting because if it’s not done properly, it can cast shadows on the subject’s face. However, this is a great example of what proper backlighting can do for a photo. Just look at how the bride practically glows!
Every couple wants photos of the wedding party getting ready. In fact, some of these shots end up being favorites because they are so candid. That being said, it’s important to remember that you can work in some posed shots as well. Using a mirror is a great way to achieve a “candid” look without risking the integrity of the photo.
Thank you so much Brittani for sharing this beautiful styled shoot with us! You can see more from Something Blue Events on their Facebook page.
