When getting engaged, one of the last things you’re thinking about is your skincare routine for the next few months, or even over a year for some brides! It’s better to start your skincare routine sooner rather than later so that your skin is in prime condition throughout the timeline leading up to your wedding day.

5-6 Months

Begin your stress relief routine

Wedding planning is a very exciting (and stressful) time! Don’t forget to take at least one night a week to wind down and relax. Do something you love like read a book, yoga, or take a nice relaxing bubble bath. It’s easy to get overwhelmed and stressed out. Avoid this with the intentional break days to focus on yourself.

Start your skin care regimen

If you don’t know what skin care works best for you, it might be worth meeting with an esthetician or investing in a nice skin care product to use up until the wedding. Make sure you have realistic goals and the willingness to stick to it, too!

Nutrition and exercise

Now is a good time to start with your healthy habits. Be realistic with your expectations and do it the safe and healthy way! Remember that your man loves you just as you are today.

3-4 Months

Book your glam squad

Start looking around for your (experienced) hair and makeup artists. This is your wedding day, and you should be pampered and look your best!

Try out a faux glow

Thinking about using fake tanner for a little glow? Now is the time to start experimenting to ensure you’re not orange for your wedding pictures!

Schedule your facials

You should start scheduling your facials for every 4-6 weeks, especially if you’re trying to correct a problem. It’s better to start early to find the best option for your skin type.

1-2 Months

Attend your trial runs

It’s time to hit up your glam squad for some trial runs! Make sure to have pictures ready and collaborate a plan for the wedding day. Be honest with your stylists because you should look and feel your best!

Be consistent

Keep up with the facials and hair treatments. Don’t skip out on any masks or trims that you should be consistent with.

Whiten your teeth

If you want to whiten your teeth, now is the time. You can use an at-home whitening treatment like Crest Whitestrips or you can have them professionally bleached. Cut back on the coffee and other dark liquids to keep them looking bright.

2 Weeks Prior

Eat healthy

If you tend to eat more when stressed, be aware of your habits and remember to ditch the junk food and reach for more healthy snacks. Now is not the time to make poor choices!

Hair touch-ups

Get a nice trim to get rid of split ends and touch up your roots. Make sure your hair stylist knows what to do the day of, and don’t try anything new!

Groom your groom

Does your groom need a haircut? It’s better for him to have a fresh cut two weeks out so it can grow out a bit instead of looking so short.

1 Week Prior

Drink lots of water

This week will be full of celebration, and maybe a little alcohol! Keep yourself balanced with water and light on the salty foods so your body will look fresh. Your body will also thank you!

Waxing

After waxing sessions, your skin may get a little red and irritated. Give it a few days so you don’t look red and your skin will be less sensitive.

Face Prep, Mani Pedi, and get your glow

This speaks for itself! Keep up with your skin regimen, facials, and ensuring your face is clear. Also get your pampering session on to relax a little (with your girls) and go out for a mani pedi, as well as get your spray tan a few days out so it can fade out.

Get plenty of sleep

This is so important! You don’t want to look tired on your wedding day, and you’ll feel so much better from all the celebrating!

Wedding Day

Eat something

Don’t forget to eat something on your wedding day, especially with protein! You’ll need all the energy you can get on your busy, busy day!

Relax and enjoy

Most importantly, all the planning is done and you simply need to focus on what this day is about! Take in every moment and don’t forget to smile!

Don’t forget to be confident! If your hair falls out of place, nobody will notice.

What skin care regimen are you following to make sure you look your best for the big day?
