Say “I do” beside the sea

On first glance, the wedding venue at Landal Gwel an Mor appears to be a small yurt, but step inside and you will soon realise that its size is deceiving. Easily seating up to 89, the yurt is perfect for both intimate and larger wedding ceremonies. Get cosy and say I do in front of a roaring log burner in the cooler months, or leave the doors open on a warm summer’s day.

The styling limits are endless, from a bohemian festival theme with brightly coloured ribbons wound around the internal beams to a more floral affair with fluffy white flowers springing out of every nook and foliage hanging from the ceiling.

After the ceremony guests can mingle in the yurt or in the private courtyard garden, before you surprise them with one of Landal Gwel an Mor’s best kept secrets – the wedding barn. From the outside the structure looks like any other barn, but the interior is decorated in a marquee style, with white drapes covering the ceiling and the walls and sparkling chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Both the barn and the yurt create the perfect blank canvas for you to put your own stamp on for your big day.

Seating up to 150 guests for your wedding breakfast and up to 250 for your evening reception, you can invite as many or as few guests as you like. When it comes to your wedding breakfast, you can work with the chefs to choose a totally bespoke menu. A formal sit-down meal, a vintage afternoon tea or a delicious picnic – the choice is yours. This relaxed approach continues through the rest of your day, from timings to styling, meaning every wedding at Landal Gwel an Mor is personal and unique.

Special touches to make your wedding unique

The surprises don’t stop there. A 15-minute walk leads you through a wooded valley to Portreath beach and harbour, with plenty of pretty stops for romantic couple’s portraits along the way – a little bridge in the woods, a large pond and by the Cornish fishing harbour just to name a few.

The best surprise of all? The Feadon Farm! Pose with reindeer in your photographs, take a few minutes of calm with your new husband, away from the wedding party, to meet the foxes (you might even get a kiss from them!) or have a barn owl fly down the aisle delivering your wedding rings! Stay in luxury for your wedding weekend

Landal Gwel an Mor also boasts a range of luxury accommodation, so you can make a weekend of your wedding with your nearest and dearest. During your stay, be sure to enjoy the beach and join a wildlife walk.

Fast-forward to the morning of the big day, while the bridal party gets ready, the groom and his groomsmen can enjoy a memorable round of golf or a spot of fishing to calm pre-wedding jitters. If you’d rather stay just for one night, the resort are building one-bedroom studio lodges. The studio lodges are tucked away in a quiet corner of the resort, positioned in front of the picturesque fishing lake – the perfect romantic spot for your first night as newlyweds.

Minimoon on the Cornish coast

You could head down to Cornwall for your minimoon too. Choose from Tragea Lodge, Lowena Lodge or a Residence Lodge. We were lucky enough to recently stay in one of the Residence Lodges. I have stayed at the cliff-top retreat before too, and fell in love with the resort instantly, so we were very excited to return! 

All of the Residence Lodges have sea views, a spacious lawn and a hot tub with a sea view. The open-plan living area includes a log burner to cosy up in front of. Proving that sustainability and luxury can go hand in hand, a whole host of mod-cons await inside the eco lodges.

Both the Scandinavian Lodges and the Residences are fully equipped for self-catering, but if you don’t feel like cooking, try The Terrace Restaurant on site. There’s even a takeaway menu if you’d prefer to chill out in the comfort of your lodge!

Hen parties

The resort accept hen parties too! Pop the bubbles in the hot tub with your girls, indulge in a pre-wedding pamper at the resort’s spa, unwind with a luxury spa treatment and relax by the indoor pool (complete with Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room).

You can also take part in one of the brand new hen party workshops, which include fun activities like flower arranging and jewellery making.
