Escape to the Country With Little Coombe Cedar Yurts

Step inside of the aptly-named Owl, Pheasant, Buzzard or Woodpecker Cedar Yurt (you may well spot these birds along with other wildlife, including the occasional deer!) and you will not be disappointed. The entrance leads into either the main, larger yurt (an incredible eight metres in diameter!) or the smaller yurt (four metres from side-to-side). The main yurt cleverly houses the living-area, sleeping-area (with king-size bed!) and en suite shower-room. There is a wonderfully well-equipped kitchen with an electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge and microwave, along with a washing-machine, WiFi, wood-burner (ideal for creating that cosy, romantic atmosphere) and even under-floor heating! Not to mention a TV with Blu-ray/DVD player – perfect for a night-in after a dip in the hot tub – and a Bluetooth sound-system, so you can listen to your favourite tunes until your heart’s content. The adjoining baby yurt houses triple bunk-beds and another en suite shower-room.
If you can bear to tear yourself away, there’s plenty to see and do nearby. Dittisham, less than a mile away, has two pubs, an excellent seafood café, post office, village store and foot ferry to the Greenway Estate (owned by the National Trust and once the holiday home of author Agatha Christie). At high tide, the stretch of river from Dittisham to Galmpton is perfect for sailing (you can hire a boat locally). Totnes and Dartmouth are well worth a visit, with shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants. Mountain bike hire can be arranged locally, surfing is available at Bantham beach (around an hour away) and Blackpool Sands, a stunning, privately-owned beach with a great organic cafe, is just ten minutes away.
