For some couples, wedding favors are an afterthought. Some even opt not to have them at all. But for other couples, they just can’t imagine having their wedding without giving a little something to all of the guests who are coming to celebrate with them. If you’re one of those couples and you want to make your favors extra-special by creating them yourselves, here are some DIY ideas you’ll want to consider:

1. Personalized Mints. You can create customized labels with your names and the wedding date and place the labels on packages of mints. Be sure to include the words “Mint to Be” at the top of the label. Too cute, right?

2. Ornaments. Whatever the time of year, ornaments make lovely wedding favors that guests can hang in their home or on their Christmas tree every year and remember your big day. Purchase ornaments in your wedding colors and hand-paint your names and the wedding date on them.

3. Post-Wedding Hangover Kit. These are so easy to do and so practical! Fill small drawstring pouches with aspirin, eye drops, mouthwash, and throat lozenges and tie the pouch to a bottle of water. Your guests will sure thank you the morning after your wedding!

4. Candles. Most people enjoy having candles in their homes. Jar candles with lids that you can personalize with stickers are an excellent (and really simple) favor idea that guests will actually want.

5. Place Card Glasses. These favors are easy, and because they’re favors as well as place cards, they double-up on some of your wedding expenses. Always a good thing! Place removable stickers with your guests’ names on individual glasses and set them out as place cards. Include a sign saying, “Your glass for the night for whatever tastes right.”

6. Hugs and Kisses. Fill clear plastic bags with Hershey’s Hugs and Hershey’s Kisses and tie them with a pretty label with your names, wedding date, and a sweet message for your guests.

7. Magnets. Personalize wooden heart-shaped magnets by hand-painting them, carving them, or soldering them, and offer them as favors. You can display them on a nice chalkboard or corrugated metal stand. These work really well for woodland themed weddings!

8. Cooking oils. It’s easy to infuse oil with herbs, so why not offer small bottled of infused oil as favors? You can include a recipe for your favorite baked bread so guests can enjoy the oil with it.

These are just a few of our favorite easy DIY favor ideas. Please feel free to share yours in the comments!
