Hey friends! You know that family, right down the block, and how all of the kids started their own venues and businesses? No? None of your neighbors were like that? Well, if you live in NE Minneapolis then you might have an inkling of exactly what I am talking about. Director of Marketing, Susan Martin, will introduce us to one such family.

“Betty Danger’s Country Club. Psycho Suzi’s. Donny Dirk’s Zombie Den. All three locations are truly separate, but we call ourselves the Dysfunctional Family.

All three venues make spectacular locations for, say, a Minneapolis bridal shower, or how about a bachelorette/bachelor party in the Twin Cities; wedding rehearsal dinners and, let’s not forget, weddings and the receptions that follow. Here are a few notes about each location:

Betty Danger’s Country Club accommodates up to 200 people (and smaller rooms are available to rent that accommodate 50 or 80 people) and features mini-golf and rides on the Danger wheel for you and your guests.

At Betty’s, we have the more whimsical clients who want something fun and unique. In August, we had a couple get married on the Danger wheel and their wedding party and guests occupied all of the gondolas.

We also just had a small wedding in our front Garden Room with 60 guests attending. We are very flexible and willing to accommodate both wacky or traditional requests for rehearsal dinners and receptions.

Donny Dirk’s Zombie Den accommodates up to 75 people and features food from either Suzi’s or Betty’s, plus you get exclusive access to the entire bar. More men are attracted to Donny Dirk’s, and we’ve had a few downtown bachelor parties there.

Psycho Suzi’s upstairs Shangri-La accommodates up to 300 guests and includes a private outdoor seating area overlooking the Mississippi River. People are always surprised to hear that we have such a large space available to rent. But you can also rent out different areas of the Shangri-La: the Ports of Pleasure, the Shrunken Head and the Forbidden Cove. Food and beverage minimums vary by which bar you want to rent out and what day of the week your event is.

“We attract many types of clients to our venues. We definitely lean toward the more nontraditional brides and grooms. We just had a same sex couple wedding at Suzi’s with pig roast and luau-theme, which was fantastic.

We also get a lot of second weddings and rehearsal dinners at Suzi’s. Surprisingly, we also had a baby shower there a few months ago. So really, our spaces run the whole gamut of personalities and occasions.

My favorite part of this Dysfunctional family? There is a Tiki Tram that runs to all three venues, so you can see the best of everything! Really the perfect venue if you want everyone to get out off their seats, to mix and mingle in a relaxed environment.

My suggestion? Buyout an entire venue and have a killer time.

If you’d like to book a private event at Betty Danger’s click here, or check out their Facebook, or Twitter. Don’t forget to look at Psycho Suzi’s surprising space, I mean 300 people is a lot. And last, but not least Donny Dirk’s Zombie Den, on Facebook and on Twitter.
