In nearly every wedding, a parent, besties or siblings will be saying a few words.

In many cases, they end the kind words by raising a glass and saying “Cheers!” So much so that many millennials have replaced the term ‘to toast” someone with the term ‘to cheers’ someone.

Another major change over the past decade or so is in how we toast.

When someone raises a glass to you it is actually customary to NOT drink, leave your glass right where it is!

Seriously, when someone honors you, says kind words and raises a class to you it is actually appropriate to smile, and accept the kind words, but not cheer yourself on.
