You’ve spent so much money on making your wedding day the day of your dreams, and let’s not forget how much you spent on decorations. Even if you’re renting a lot of things for the reception, there are still going to be things here and there that you’re probably going to have to buy to make the finishing touches. From vases to lights, and sentimental decor, what do you do with it when you’re finished? If you have multiples of some items, you can sell them of course! But there may be something you just love so much and don’t want to get rid of. Why not incorporate them into your home?

Candles

Let’s face it, most weddings have candles incorporated in it. Whether it’s a unity candle or a centerpiece at the reception, they’re a must-have to have at your wedding! The romantic mood-lighting is not complete without gorgeous candle holders or votives. But they’re so gorgeous and you’ll want to keep some, but what do you do with them? Scatter them around your house from the coffee table to the bedrooms. Maybe you could tuck them away in the china cabinet and bring them out for special occasions or your anniversary. This way you’ll always be reminded of your wedding day.

Shadow Boxes

Shadowboxes are a perfect way to display special items that really tell a story about your wedding. Take an invitation or program, handkerchief, garter, flower petals, and any other items from your day that you want to display in this special box. Try to keep it to your absolute favorite things so that every time someone sees your shadow box, they’ll be able to envision your wedding day!

Florals

Now let’s talk about florals. The one thing brides can’t be without and work so hard to plan is the perfect floral arrangements. At the end of the day and before the florals wilt away, make sure you keep your bouquet by hanging it upside down or pressing it. This way the florals will dry naturally instead of wilt and you will be able to keep it forever! You can display it in a vase or even a shadow box!

Mr. and Mrs. Items

Most weddings have a Mr. and Mrs. sign somewhere, so why not reuse it in your home? Hang chair signs above your bed or on your bedside tables. Better yet, hang them on a gallery wall in your home along with all of your wedding photos!

Guestbook Alternatives

Displaying guest book alternatives on a stand on a shelf is a great way to keep the best wishes and loving words from those closest to you in your home and not in a book tucked away! Alternatives, such as wooden boards, polaroids, art prints, large wooden letters, and many other options are perfect to be hung in your home to keep all the sweet words displayed for you to read more often.

Vases/Centerpieces

Vases are another thing to remember to save from your wedding day. Especially if you have any fancy ones that match your accent colors such as gold mercury vases or anything that you can use on special occasions or keep out on your dining room table. Just because you’re married doesn’t mean your husband is out of the “buying you flowers” stage!

Signs

If you have any kind of sign displayed at your wedding, hang it on the wall! If you have a Bible verse or quote, or even a sign with your names on it, incorporate it into your interior design! These items would look good in your entryway or even your hallway.
