If you’ve been on Pinterest lately (which we know you have), it’s likely that you’ve come across a variety of acrylic details as you hunt for wedding inspiration. Pinterest is like a menagerie for all things acrylic these days- and we’re not mad about it! Acrylics, also known as Lucites, convey a modern-design aesthetic and can spruce up any number of wedding day details such as invitations, chairs, tables, and wedding signs. This ‘21st-Century’ material prevents “visual weight,” by keeping things light & airy. Thus, your event space will be transformed with clean lines and minimalist vibes.

“But, how do I style something so versatile?” Fear not! We’re here with a few tips on how to style this translucent chameleon.

First things first, given that it’s a transparent material, make sure you offset it with a dark background. For instance, if you’re using an acrylic seating chart, that’s a lot of text and you’ll want to make sure it’s legible for your guests. While “white text” is incredibly popular if you’re not going to have something in the background, opt for a darker-colored text.

Our next tip involves floral. Yasss. To dress up acrylic tables and chairs, we suggest going bold! Using lots of greenery and vibrant florals adds interest and when set upon an acrylic table, they appear to be floating in mid-air! Since there’s a large amount of space to cover, you can really go ‘all out’ with floral and other decor.

Last but certainly not least, when creating your table settings, make sure to balance out the acrylic details with some opaque decor. For example, if you’re using an acrylic table- pair it with solid-colored chargers. As with most things, you’ll want to find a happy medium that also fits your style. If your heart is set on that acrylic table and those beaded-glass charger plates, then offset it with solid menus/place cards.
