If you’re one of the happy wedded couples celebrating your first Christmas together, congratulations! What an exciting time for you. While you’ve probably already given this consideration, you might be wondering what would make the perfect gift for your sweetheart. With that in mind, we thoughts we’d share some of our favorite ideas with you!

1. A card. No one said you have to spend a fortune on your gifts for each other. Exchanging greeting cards with your own handwritten sentiments in them can be a lovely tradition you begin on this first Christmas together.

2. Bring happiness to others. If you’re a couple who enjoys donating your time and effort to good causes, there is no better time of year to do so together. Find a local hospital or shelter or set aside time to volunteer there around the holidays.

3. Schedule some play time. A wonderful gift is the gift of time. Pull out the board games or console controllers and spend time together playing games and feeling like kids again.

4. Something collectible. Your first Christmas together is one you’ll always want to remember, so why not commemorate it with a collectible of some kind? Maybe you can find a sweet figurine, record album, work of art, or other significant item that truly captures this special time in your marriage.

5. Preserve your wedding memories. Imagine your spouse’s reaction if you present him or her with something preserved from your wedding! For example, you could preserve your wife’s wedding gown, turn a flower from her bouquet into something spectacular for your home, or collaborate with your photographer to create a special album.

6. An ornament for your tree. This is probably the most common and traditional first Christmas gift, and we can understand why. A First Christmas Together ornament is something you’ll pull out every year when you decorate your tree and remember the love you feel for each other in these early moments of your marriage.

7. Take a trip. Holidays can be hectic, especially as you’re trying to figure out visiting with each other’s families and friends. Reconnect with each other by scheduling a trip around Christmas, even if it’s a day trip. Make sure it’s just the two of you…no phones, no clocks, just you. Talk about romantic and memorable!

If you’ve already bought or made your gift for your new spouse, please let us know what you did in the comments. We can’t wait to hear what it is!
