Ahead of the royal wedding in May, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced the appointment of an official photographer

Alexi Lubomirski, photographer to the stars, has been chosen by the royal couple as the official photogtapher for their wedding day on 19 May.

Lubomirski, 42, commented; “I could not be more thrilled or honoured to photograph this historic occasion. Having taken Prince Harry and Ms Markle’s engagement photos, it brings me such joy to be able to witness again, the next chapter in this wonderful love story.”

Back in December, he took the official photos to mark their engagement, capturing a series of intimate pictures including a black and white shot of the pair embracing.

Alexi, who holds the title His Serene Highness, is descended from an influential Polish family who received the hereditary title of prince of the Holy Roman Empire from Emperor Ferdinand III in the 17^thCentury. Perhaps not your typical photographer of choice for the royal family, he is better known for his snaps of high profile celebrities, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyonce and Julia Roberts.
