One of these things being the bridal shower!

Many brides tend to want to plan their shower. This is time for the bride to step away and let someone else handle all the planning details. It may be good to give a bit of guidance as far as the theme or style of shower you would prefer. Other than that, let someone else handle all the details so you can truly enjoy being the bride and center of attention.

It often varies on who throws the bridal shower or showers. Due to distance or keeping guests to a manageable amount, a bride may be thrown 2 showers in different cities or on different sides of the family.

Family members should have the first opportunity to take on the role of planning this special event for you, and of course with the help of your bridesmaids. It’s important that the maid of honor stays in contact with the bride and her family members about this from the beginning so that every detail of the bride is in mind. Keeping everyone in constant communication will call for a smooth planning process as well as have everyone on the same page.

When the family is planning the bridal shower, it’s more than okay for the bridesmaids to offer some help to send out invitations, plan some games, and set up the decorations. The more help, the better so that all the stress isn’t set on one person’s shoulders.

Your Maid of Honor may also be the one to take the lead in planning the shower. This works well too because she knows your style and there’s a good chance you may have been dreaming of this day together. The Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids should keep in contact with the Mother of the Bride or other family members that should be included in the plans.

Where to start? Talk to your mom and Maid of Honor and make sure they have contact information so everyone can be connected and on the same page of the date, location, and time of your bridal shower. Provide a list of people that should be invited to your bridal shower. You may also want to give them a few tips of what you want such as bridesmaids dress code, drink station, etc. Try your best not to intervene because these people love you and want to plan this special day for you.

Now that’s one more thing to check off your list and one less thing you have to stress about!
